Prof. Joel Berry, University of Alabama, Birmingham, discusses his website, which links UAB undergraduate students looking for real-world experience with medical professionals in need of solutions to specific problems in their work. After one year of collaboration, students are working on two projects: a redesign of ostomy bags and methods and materials to prevent skin ulcerations from wires and tubing of patients in intensive care. He talks about the effort to bolster undergraduate education in this podcast recorded at the 2017 SB3C Conference in Tucson, AZ.
